What did real-life Solomon Hill do to validate that kind of a deal? Or rather, what was on Dell Demps' (Pelicans GM) mind when he decided to sign him for that kind of money?
$12M a season for a bench guard/wing who isn't a scorer nor a defender is just hurting the team's chances of signing someone significant for the same amount of money.
Omer Asik's deal has made him unmovable in the previous edition of the game. Now, in the second year of his contract it doesn't look that bad, but only because it is one year shorter. Asik is a defensive liability, not much on offense, but $11M a year is about the market price that you have to pay for a starting big man.
Whether he's worthy of being a starter in the NBA is up for debate.
