NBA 2K17: Bad And Ugly Contracts On Every NBA Team
11. New York Knicks
The Bad: None
The Ugly: Joakim Noah 4 years / $72.6M
Noah's deal is the stuff of GM nightmares. The Knicks don't know if they're keeping Derrick Rose for the next season, yet they decide to sign his friend for a long and large contract?
Now you, as a GM, have to deal with an injury-prone, one-dimensional center, who can still play solid defense, but not much else. Dwight Howard is paid the same amount for 3 years, but he's a far superior offensive player and a better defender. This deal is just awful.
Apart from that, Rose leaves after this season and clears $21M in cap space, Porzingis has three years left on his rookie deal, so the next season you'll have about $20M to make some good signings and that is even if you're able to unload Noah and his awful contract.
