5. MyCareer Vs. The One - Story & Options
Both story modes involve once great but now flawed players. In NBA 2K18, you're trying to refocus on basketball after a failed musical career, while in NBA Live 18 you're eager to make a comeback after a seemingly career-ending injury. So far so good, and at the beginning of the story the EA Sports game is actually slightly better.
However, later on, NBA 2K18 really crushes its opponent. There are a plethora of possibilities for you to explore, including going to the barber shop (although paying for hairstyles with Virtual Currency clearly sucks), the gym or a team workout. My Neighborhood is really fun to explore and spend time in, which contributes to the immersive qualities of the game mode itself.
NBA Live 18 offers just regular and streetball games, which are fun in their own right, but become boring when played for hours. NBA 2K18 allows for a more diverse, complex experience, and the story itself is not so bad, as you gradually get to know the players on the team and arena staff during this simple and coherent narrative.
