NBA 2K21 will be unique in its way thanks to the timing of its release, as for the first time, the game will come before the draft. Usually, 2K will have a couple of months between the rookie selection and the game's release, allowing the first-year players to be in place from day one.
However, thanks to the global pandemic and the delayed NBA bubble in Orlando, the draft has been postponed for quite some months, so when the game is released, there won't be a true rookie class. Of course, this will come with an update as soon as possible, and of all the potential rookies, easily the most exciting prospect is LaMelo Ball.
The point guard is projected as a top pick, if not the very top pick, and will be a lot of fun to play with on the game. Thanks to his brother already playing in the NBA, and his outspoken father, LaMelo is already a well-known entity even before hitting the big leagues.
Whether he lands in Minnesota with the first pick, or Charlotte with the third, (Golden State don't need another point guard), Ball will almost instantly make his new team better, thanks to his size, speed, and much better shooting ability than his big brother Lonzo.
