NBA 2K24: 10 Things We Already Know
5. The City Has Been Revamped
Your MyCAREER experience across NBA 2K titles will differ exponentially depending on which console generation you're playing because, as was the case for seventh-generation players when NBA made the leap into the eighth generation, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 users are being left in the past compared to Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 5 users.
The City is the leading difference. Allowing players to roam around, shoot some hoops, and partake in some egregious/mode-making side quests, it was an added bonus of playing on current-generation consoles, so players will be delighted to hear that it has been refurbished.
Full details aren't yet unknown, but what appear to be leaks of the official set are out there if you wish to sneak a cheeky peek.
Per the official PlayStation listing for the game, The City will feature a new tropical backdrop that 2K describes as being "all-new". How new, exactly, will be determined upon release; uplifting the current City with a new coat of paint won't be acceptable. "Optional side quests" and "sizzling streetball competition" are also mentioned in the listing.
So far, so... similar.
That's not a bad thing, either, as The City in NBA 2K23 was sleek in offering players some downtime while chasing their computerised basketball dreams, but the exact same, this cannot be.
