Nintendo NX: 9 New Rumours You Need To Know
3. The NX Will Connect With Pokemon Sun & Moon
Sun and Moon are the titles of the next pair of Pokemon games, revealed at the beginning of 2016. The games are set for release on the Nintendo 3DS system at the end of the year. Rather strangely, however, basically no information has been revealed regarding the games bar their logos and a few pieces of concept art.
This is odd for a number of reasons, the main one being that it's completely inconsistent with Pokemon reveals of the past. When new games in the series are unveiled, it's normally with plenty of footage and contextual information. The rumour mill suggests that the reason for this secrecy is due to the NX.
That might seem like a bit of a stretch, but bear with me for a second. For a start, the President of the Pokemon Company has talked about wanting to expand the franchise onto Nintendo’s new console. Then there's the release dates – with the NX strongly believed to be launching at the end of the year and Sun and Moon confirmed to be coming then, the dates definitely line-up.
Finally, there's the repeatedly reported rumour that the NX will involve some sort of handheld component, with some going as far as to say it's the use of the Big N's very own 3DS. If this is the case, what better way to make handheld fans transition to console (and vice versa) than by linking the two systems using Pokemon, one of the company's most universally beloved franchises?
