4. None Of Those Games Were Real - No Skyrim (Yet)

Can you imagine what it would've been like getting hands-on with the new Nintendo machine, filming the advert that was going to reveal it to the world?

Well, even those that were involved couldn't tell you what that was like. Thanks to an actor who worked on the shoot and later revealed all to GameExplain, all consoles used in the advert were "dummy units", and footage was added over the top in post-production.

You can actually see this in the finished advert below, where some superimposed gameplay of the next Mario actually 'overlaps' with one of the actor's arms.

Not to call Nintendo liars - a UK rep has since mentioned that the ad was simply to demonstrate the functionality of the system, which it did a marvellous job of - but considering we're living in a time where consumers are more than fed up of misdirection and misconception, finding this out is a little disappointing, to say the least.
