Nintendo Switch Pokémon Stars Wishlist: 8 Things We Want To See

4. Streamline Online Capabilities

Pokemon Sun And Moon Battle
The Pokémon Company

Sun and Moon are absolutely excellent games that brought the series to the next level in almost every conceivable way. The sole area where it took a step back? Online features.

While Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire actually did a brilliant job of incorporating both friends and passersby into the single-player experience through secret bases, Mirage Spots and the Player Search System, Sun and Moon segregated all its online features from the main story through the Festival Plaza.

The poorly explained and remarkably unintuitive area kept players from having easy access to the outside world, and made it unnecessarily difficult to access features like Wonder Trading and battling.

Moving to a console (albeit a console-handheld hybrid) should open the door for improved online capabilities. If Game Freak and Nintendo can’t deliver on this, it would be an absolute shame.
