Nintendo Switch Pro: 10 Improvements It Desperately Needs
2. Built-In Audio Chat & Bluetooth Connectivity
This is a must.
For this generation it was a given and yet for a gaming superpower attempting to stay relevant and competitive, the absence of such a basic function in the Switch was, and continues to be, a startling oversight.
With the exception of a few third party titles (Fortnite etc) that have taken things into their own hands, if you want to chat to your friends whilst playing on your Nintendo Switch, you have to plug a set of headphones into your mobile phone and utilise a smart phone app that makes your friends sound like they’re on the other side of the world, talking into a spoon strapped to a calculator.
Similarly, if you do play the likes of Fortnite and use its brilliantly simple in-game chat function in the process, because of the Switch’s lack of wireless bluetooth connectivity, you have to plug a set of headphones directly into the console itself.
This makes using the console in docked mode an impractical, logistical nightmare, to say the least.
So, when the Switch Pro/2 comes along, wireless connectivity and universal chat should be the first port of call for the Big N… that is, if they’ve rectified our final point first…
