Nintendo Switch Pro: 10 Improvements It Desperately Needs
3. More Great Content
Yes, both first and third party. Following Nintendo’s reemergence into the spotlight, the number of third party games available to its users has risen exponentially.
Even with the current generation Switch’s inferior power, the success of these nipped and tucked AAA titles is there for all to see, and the Switch’s ability to breathe new life into the games of yesteryear is certainly not to be sniffed at. In that vein, ports such as Doom and The Witcher 3 continue to demonstrate the console’s great potential.
A more powerful system, therefore, means more third party games, more quickly and with less surgery required. If we reach a stage where new releases land on Switch at the same time as its competitors, Sony and Microsoft might feel a shiver rush up their collective spines.
Third parties aside, Nintendo’s first party offerings are the envy of all. Smash hits like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey and the groundbreaking Breath of the Wild raised the bar for not only Nintendo, but the industry as a whole. These games are hardware sellers, there’s no refuting that.
Produce more titles in this vein, with finer graphics on upgraded hardware, and we’re all laughing.
