Overwatch 2: 13 Things We Learned From Blizzconline

So many small but delicious crumbs of lore were revealed during the presentation. Players will get to learn who's really behind the new omnic uprising, and will get to see more of Sojourn and her interactions with the rest of the team in Toronto and beyond.

Certain storyboards show the new team interacting with Zarya for the first time (that we know of) in canon, the Russian hero joining them on their carrier.

Another set of boards show father and daughter Torbjorn and Brigitte finally spending time together, and another instance - both boards and a short bit of animation - shows Reinhardt about to attack a peaceful and worried Bastion, who Torbjorn has been housing since the events of the "Binary" comic.

Finally, a major story beat shows the team, specifically Genji (among others) rescuing Zenyatta from a crumbling temple in India, and facing off against a Talon team including Widowmaker and Sombra.

The development team expressed interest in seeing how dark Overwatch can go, and the inclusion of terrified NPCs and destruction and damage from the uprising and Talon's shadowy actions raises the stakes for this new chapter in the Overwatch universe.
