7. No Backwards Compatibility

When you own as many consoles as I do, backwards compatibility is a huge attraction; why lug all of my PS consoles out of the loft and connect them up when, in an ideal world, the PS4 would play all my PS1, PS2 and PS3 games? However, as history dictates with the PS3, this is about as likely as the Xbox 720 re-introducing HD-DVD, because the technology required to emulate the previous consoles is simply too expensive, and as a result has been discontinued from later iterations of the PS3 (having previously been available in some early models). Given the constant complaints from developers that the PS3 was difficult to develop for, to implement any of that technology into the PS4's infrasturcture would probably seem futile to Sony. Furthermore, why allow us to play our favourite classics when they can upload them to PSN and charge us for the nostalgia?
