For anyone trying to get an entirely complete Pokédex in either the Let's Go series or Sword and Shield, there is one Pokémon that'll provide a special kind of hell: the questionably named 'Hex Nut Pokémon', Melmetal.

Unlike every other Pokémon in the entire series, Melmetal can't be acquired in a regular game in the series. No, this bad boy is only obtainable through absolute shenanigans involving Pokémon Let's Go, and the phone game Pokémon GO. After sending a Pokémon from your phone to the Switch, players are given a 'mystery box' which allows them to catch Meltan, Melmetal's prevolution, for 30 minutes a day.

So, how does one evolve Meltan? Well, it's just the small matter of getting four hundred candies to evolve it, meaning you either have to catch roughly 133 of the Pokémon, or walk it for 8000 kilometres.

Sorry, just one more time: to evolve this Pokémon, you would have to walk it for eight thousand kilometres, which is the rough equivalent of a hundred and ninety marathons. Time to get buff for video games, we guess.
