7. A Chance to Actually BE The Champion

In modern games there are very few feelings quite like it. You've beaten the Elite Four, only to find that you've got one final battle; and it'll be the toughest yet. After winning this one, though, that's it; you've done it, and now
you can be called the champion and be recognised as the greatest trainer in the region. Well, for a while at least... It seems that once you and your party are registered into the Hall of Fame that's pretty much it. Apart from a few congratulations and a few new areas to visit there are absolutely no benefits to being the champion. The next generation of Pokemon games should address this issue and make being the champion more of a reward, but also somewhat of a responsibility. In the current games you become the champion, only to find that once you enter the Elite Four again you have been replaced by the person you had previously defeated without even knowing it. In future the games should throw challengers at you; this could be as simple as using random 'Ace Trainers' with randomly generated parties on a monthly or even weekly basis. Should you lose to any of these trainers then they should be installed at the head of the Elite Four, ready for you to take up the challenge once more to regain your title! It would add a far more competitive edge to the post-game and would certainly break the monotony of facing the same Elite Four and champion combination over and over.
