3. Garchomp
One of the most powerful non legendaries across the whole franchise, this mon is must have in the meta game.
Basically a shark dragon, Garchomp will rip most opponents to shreds quickly. Its design and popularity often see it compared to Charizard, but in reality it’s much better. For one, it’s actually a dragon. And that isn’t just extra credibility, it means Garchomp gets STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) from mighty Dragon type moves. Charizard, meanwhile, has to make do with Flying. Getting a Garchomp with a Dragon charge move will put most gym defenders and raid bosses to the sword with relative ease.
The only foreseeable issue with Garchomp is its rarity. When Slakoth, Gen III’s biggest hitter came in, Niantic decided that rather than nerf it, they’d make it rarer than an unopened beer at Brett Kavanaugh’s house.
Obviously it’s no fun if everyone just gets a Garchomp with no effort. Pokemon Go has always been a game that requires time investment. But for those who rank Garchomp as their all time favourite, hopefully it’ll be a case of when, not if, they can add this beast to their roster.
