Pokémon Switch: 8 Rumors & Details You Need To Know

1. Motion-Controlled Z-Moves

Owing to the inevitable death of Microsoft and Sony's ill-conceived Kinect and PlayStation Move respectively, only the Big N continues to see the merit of motion gaming, with Switch carrying on the Wii's legacy to great effect in games like ARMS, but as a mainstay feature in Pokémon? We're not so sure.

Fortunately, if the rumour graduates to become fact, Switch's use of the tech won't be intrinsically linked to gameplay but rather, a (presumably) optional method in which to perform rhythmic Z-Moves. Its use could, of course, extend beyond just allowing Trainers to wave their limbs around in order to trigger match-winning super moves, but it's unlikely that'll be the case.

Big changes are expected for Pokémon's first major outing on a home console, but Game Freak knows its audience. Diluting the series' hard-boiled RPG roots with the mass appeal of motion controls is the last thing it'll want to do.

Limiting their use to novel, optional segments such as these will ensure they remain complementary to the experience, rather than intrusive. Perfect.
