Pokémon GO: 10 Missing Gameplay Features We Want To See

1. Introduction Of Storylines

The game already has a Badge system that keeps up with various statistics such as how many PokeStops you visit, number of Bug Pokemon you've caught, how far you've walked, etc., and we've tapped through portions of dialogue between the player and Professor Willow (or the various Team Leaders when selecting which of the three Teams to join). These two concepts could be woven together to create small storylines or quests.

For example, imagine this:

"Team Rocket has taken over your city. All gyms in the area are currently unavailable until Team Rocket has been defeated (or until a certain date, just in case the number of active players in that area is low). Team Rocket has been tar-and-feathered every Pokémon trainer they see, leaving random goons at PokéStops to try to catch you, too.

Visit PokéStops to try to capture as many Grimers and Pidgeys as you can, to save them from being used in Team Rocket's heinous plan."

You'd then "defeat" Team Rocket by visiting PokeStops, catching X number of Pidgeys/Grimers and finding X number of Team Rocket, who'd pop out at PokeStops like items or eggs normally would. There could be experience bonuses for players as they reach landmarks (like the XP awarded when a new Badge is earned) and/or bonuses for the Team that helps out the most.

This would add another dimension to the world of Pokémon GO, and with slight additions to the Badge system, the additions of a few tap-through bits of dialogue, players could actually be battling (or catching, training, walking etc.) to save the day!
