PS4: 10 Awesome Console Secrets EVERYONE Missed
6. Double-Tap, Quick-Switch
A nice, simple tip that will make switching between applications and destinations on the PlayStation 4 much easier. Pushing the home button will, of course, take you to the home menu. This is where you’ll be able to see all your games, apps and tabs, such as friends and messages.
However, if you find yourself going back to the same area, for example, a certain message thread or party chat, you may find use in double tapping. If you double tap the home button it’ll snap you back to the last menu screen you were on, like the aforementioned message screen.
It’s a tiny little tip that most people either won’t know or will find out by blind luck, say, by dropping their controller. If you’re not often fluttering through the home menu, I’m sure it could be disregarded but there’s plenty of applications for the trick.
For example, if you’re checking out a guide via the PS4’s browser, lurking through your achievements, a group chat or, as our next entry pertains to, changing tracks in Spotify.
