A simple feature, yet one which many users have missed throughout the years due to how much it's changed: Holding down the home button will open up the revamped quick menu, listing a plethora of options and customisations that can save you time and effort.

Far more multi-faceted than back at launch, it acts as an access centre for every area of the PS4. Online friends can be viewed, the ability to quickly switch your online status, check out communities and groups, Trophy data and broadcast, if you’re a streamer.

However, these aren’t just small options, you can then jump into the above mentioned menus and do even more stuff. For example, power, this allows you to switch user, restart the system or put it into the ever useful rest mode.

It’ll also adapt based on what you’re doing, so you’ll be able to get updates on stream elements when you’re broadcasting live. Another neat addition is the controller modification menu, allowing you to tweak the Dualshock 4 to your preference and save some important battery life in the process.

Lastly, you can check Trophies here without leaving the game to visit their dedicated section on the XMB.
