The very same day that Microsoft announced their new, all-digital Xbox One S, Sony undermined their showing by revealing that the PS5 will ship with a regular disc drive.

Though Cerny reiterated that digital gaming was still going to be a huge focus for the system, Sony aren't giving up on physical media just yet.

Though this is entirely speculation, you'd assume that the PS5 would ship with an ultra-HD Blu Ray drive as well, a feature which has been surprisingly absent from Sony's current crop of consoles. Microsoft has been using UHD drives in its new iterations of the Xbox One, and it's something the PS5 would be playing catch up on.
