PS5: 10 Ways To Blow PS4 Out The Water
2. Branch Out With Sony Originals
Speaking of, while Sony did have some utter kick ass exclusives this generation, the Sony formula isn’t going to carry them forever. Action adventure third person story games with some shooting, some climbing and some emotional beats served them well this gen, but will lightning strike twice?
The magic eight ball says ‘don’t count on it’.
While obviously we all want a new God Of War, Horizon 2 and the rest, Sony could kick on from the PS4 by diversifying their gene pool. Mascot led platformers, RPGs, in fact, anything other than a photorealistic shooty climber with a brilliant photo mode and a focus on exploration would be great.
Sony is well ahead of Xbox right now, but standing still isn’t the way to keep that lead up in the next generation. Besides, with the Switch, Nintendo are genuine competition again. And when it comes to exclusives, they have a lot more diversity.
Mario & Rabids Kingdom Battle, Astral Chain, Breath Of The Wild, Pokémon, Splatoon, Xenoblade, Smash, Arms, Octopath Traveler and obviously Mario himself show the range Nintendo has, even if its graphics can’t compete with Sony. The PS5 needs to have their eye on the competition.
