PS5: 5 Must-Buy Launch Games (And 5 That Will Suck)

3. Will Suck: NBA 2K21

Historically, the NBA 2K franchise has improved greatly when moving from one generation of consoles to the next, but primarily in terms of graphics more than anything else. There's certainly no denying that the PS5 version of NBA 2K21 looks incredible, and it's certainly the sweatiest launch game being released on the console this month!

2K Games is making a lot of bold promises, including that the next gen version of this title has been rebuilt from the ground up, but only in terms of visuals, not gameplay.

Gameplay alterations have been made - there's even a new "Impact Engine" which promises to avoid players getting stuck in predictable animations - but looking beyond that, this definitely appears to be more of the same from the franchise.

In other words, NBA 2K21 is going to be NBA 2K20 with better visuals, and some minor alterations which won't improve the overall experience. That's a shame, as a good sports game is always appreciated, but while this is going to look like a next gen game, it won't exactly play like one.
