8. Backwards Compatibility From The Start
One of the best bits of news throughout the whole Wired article is the confirmation that backwards compatibility with PS4 games will be in the next generation.
We did expect as much following the praise that Microsoft got for including it on the Xbox One. More and more, backwards compatibility is being seen as an important feature for any console.
The example specifically mentioned here is Marvel's Spider-Man, which was shown running on the new hardware, and was even shown to have some new improvements (more on that later).
It's also been made pretty clear by Microsoft that being able to play older games is an important part of their brand image now, so you might as well just assume that the next Xbox will also allow this feature.
Although it's not clear how far back this backwards compatibility goes yet, it's a great first step having PS4 games be playable from the get-go.
