PS5: What The Reveal CONFIRMS About Next-Gen Gaming
2. VR Is Still A Focus
This may or may not be a good thing depending on how you feel about VR, but it looks like its here to stay.
Mark Cerny outright confirms that the next PlayStation will be compatible with the current PlayStation VR headset and confirmed that it would play some sort of role with the PS5.
This isn't surprising when you consider that the PS VR has only really just started getting good. It simply hasn't had enough shelf life at the moment to get the most out of it, so it's a good thing that Sony aren't just ditching it.
There was a certain level of caginess when it came to discussing VR though, which implies that we might be seeing some big changes when the next generation rolls around.
As long as there is no mandatory release like with the Kinect, having more options is never a bad thing.
Expect the other next-generation consoles to put a big focus on VR, AR and any peripheral outside of the main release.
