Rage 2: 10 Features That Prove It's Better Than DOOM
9. Guns That Feel Good (And Plenty Of Them)
Borderlands may be the series known best for its weapon variety, but id Software titles have always had the best feeling gunplay. Each of their releases has a satisfying sense of impact, brutality, and responsiveness in each enemy encounter.
This is why DOOM proved to be such a hit. There was an undeniable sense of strength in every melee takedown, making you feel tougher than the literal spawns of satan. The power was translated into the guns as well, with the double-barrel shotgun being capable of transporting your soul to a higher realm when getting on a hot streak.
All in all, the only negative was that there were only a few guns that were especially entertaining to use. For every chainsaw, there's a plasma rifle that you use mainly because it feels wrong to just straight-up ignore a part of your weapon wheel. Rage 2 shows off a more refined arsenal with no lacking options and far more variety in playstyles.
You get a gun that slingshots enemies wherever you'd like, incendiary pistols and more keep your options open. Use them as much or as little as you like, the game will give you ample opportunities to demo them.
