2. Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright & Conquest
Metacritic Score: 88 The Verdict: Fire Emblem Fates is comprised of three separate video games under one series package: Birthright, Conquest and the DLC update Revelation (which becomes available in March for most territories), and for fans of the franchise, it's one hell of a package. Birthright is a great primer for those new to the series though might seem a little on the watered-down side for vets, as the difficulty tends to be lower and the story more simplified. Conquest, meanwhile, ratchets up the difficulty and offers a comparatively darker adventure with greater moral ambiguity. Most critics agree that, while each game has its own strengths and weaknesses dependent upon the sort of experience the player is craving, the visuals, music, gameplay and storyline between the two games adds up to create an unforgettable experience.
