Aava is one of the more unique bosses in the game as it strays away from the somewhat overused 'dude in armour' mentality and it does so rather well. When you first fight him, he is invisible, making for a difficult but not impossible fight. However, once you find the item to make him visible, you have a tough fight with one of the rare quality beastlike enemies in the series. His move set is challenging, his design is cool and he is just such a fresh and unique fight that you can't help, but enjoy it.
