Ranking Every Xbox One Exclusive From Worst To Best
12. State Of Decay 2
Another exclusive indirectly affected by Microsoft's inability to maintain pace with Sony on the exclusives front, Undead Labs' return visit to zombie survivor series State of Decay delivered on its promise of a more complete, refined version of the original, but that wasn't enough.
Unfairly so, Microsoft primed the sequel as a must-have first-party title to sit alongside the Xbox One's modest library of triple-A exclusives, a misconception that gave rise to unreachable expectations.
State of Decay 2, like its predecessor, struggled to stamp out technical hitches and bugs, but for genre enthusiasts able to look past its issues, the much-requested addition of multiplayer and a satisfying if simplistic combat system provided hours upon hours of undead-slaying entertainment.
There's no excusing technical issues, but State of Decay 2 isn't and never was meant to be a multi-million dollar budget game. At heart, it's an indie title and a mighty fine one at that.
