One of the more pleasant surprises from the footage is the reveal that the world is "alive and responds to the player." More to the point, you're able to interact extensively with NPCs beyond cinematic mission introductions.

You can call out to a passing rider, start a fight with random goons, talk down a trigger-happy lawman, intimidate a witness into keeping their trap shut, and plenty more.

Dynamic situations can apparently be escalated or de-escalated depending on your preference, and the result can either be the unexpected formation of a friendship or a bloodbath.

The narration continues, "Your actions have consequences, and it's up to you to decide just how honourable Arthur is." This will presumably play into the Honour system introduced in the first game.
