Although Rockstar's first foray into the Western genre managed to nail the idea of players becoming their very own bounty-killer/outlaw, there was one thing that was missing: the ability to use two guns at once.

Look, I don't care who you are, everyone knows that the legends of western cinema all used two weapons at the same time at one point or another, whether they be Clint Eastwood's Man with no Name, John Wayne's Rooster Cogburn or even Kurt Russell's Wyatt Earp. Poor John Marston, on the other hand, just had to make due with one gun at any point in time, and that's without even mentioning the overwhelming nature of the trademark Rockstar 'weapon wheel'.

Come Red Dead 2, and that approach has seen a complete overhaul. Now, the player's loadout is determined by what gear they're wearing, and it'll allow them to dual-wield revolvers like the best used to - as well as a few other firearms too.

Rockstar's latest gameplay update saw protagonist Arthur Morgan firing a revolver in one hand while using a sawn-off shotgun in the other, and yes, it looks just as brilliant as you imagine.
