Resident Evil 2 Remake: 9 Iconic Moments We Can't Wait To See

3. The Many Faces Of William Birkin

Capcom

Courtesy of Capcom's attendance at this year's Gamescom, we've finally laid eyes on William Birkin's reimagined visage for Resi 2's remake, and if footage (below) is anything to go by, the infamous creator of the G-Virus is going to look unfathomably ghastly by journey's end.

Even in his earliest stage of mutation, Birkin takes body horror to heights John Carpenter could only dream of, and there's still four more to come. It's likely Capcom's going to keep those redesigns behind lock and key until launch day, but if it can make a man with but a simple mutated arm look so grotesque, one can only imagine the sort of delights it has in store for when the former Umbrella employee sheds his human skin completely.

It needs to be noted, too, just how tremendous a job Capcom has done with Birkin in motion. That bulbous, all-seeing eye, along with Birkin's stumbling, yet strangely balletic footwork have us weak at the knees in anticipation of how it plans to handle the final fight...
