Resident Evil 2 Remake: 9 Iconic Moments We Can't Wait To See

4. Marvin's Transformation

How Capcom plans to handle Marvin's unenviable and, sadly, inevitable fate is going to be a hot topic among fans leading all the way up to release.

The developer has been very public about its intention to change certain events from original to remake, but given that Mr. Branagh is visibly wounded and suffering in the reveal trailer, it's safe to assume that he's still tagged for death by the Grim Reaper.

What's not a given is how, or when, he's going to give up the ghost. Originally, having served his purpose as an early-game guide and expositional outlet, Marvin succumbs to the virus and transforms into one more zombie for Leon or Claire to put down, but given that Capcom's seen fit to relocate the wounded officer to the station's main hall, the circumstances of his death have already been altered.

Best guess? As it should, Capcom will retain the macabre transformation scene but inject it with a dose of subtlety. With the shift from fixed camera to a familiar over-the-shoulder perspective, Capcom could will it so for Marvin to jump his victim from off-screen when the player least expects it.
