Much like the acclaimed Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil Village will include many monsters and set pieces that are based on eastern Europe. The reasoning behind this is the opening story told by Mia which feels a lot like a Grimms Fairy tale, something that can easily be related to Resident Evil. European themes can also be seen in the castle which appears like a classic medieval home with a very demonic front door as well as a chandelier callback to the first classic mansion.

The snowy forest surrounding the village and castle could indicate a northern European setting which is more likely due to the apparel of the old farm owner Ethan encounters along with the other non-infected villagers. The infected enemies also appear European in nature, including a possible army of werewolves, a creepy old shamanistic woman, and the four terrifying women who seem to flirt and harass Ethan through the game.

Three of the women are dressed in their creepy ceremonial esk robes, and the one who seems to be their leader wears a stylish 40s-50s era dress and hat that isn't exactly European in nature but does show ideas of royalty and historic pride.

There is also the symbol that the developers were not keen on showing to people because they didn't want to spoil their game's plot, though the image itself is just a weird fetus monster surrounded by a ring, four raven wings, and a bunch of twigs. Whatever this image may be or what it means, the game will make sure fans fear it nevertheless.
