Resident Evil Nemesis EXPLAINED - Origins & Meaning
Mr. X
The final Tyrant we see before the Nemesis is an equally formidable model, the T-00, better known as Mr X.
This version was designed to be more humanoid and "blend in" somewhat, even though Umbrella still made a giant 7-foot tall grey dude who could crush a human head like a grape. The coats worn by Mr X and other T-00 types weren't just to help them blend into situations, but they limited the Tyrant's power and protected them too.
Mr X was set loose in the city to clear the Raccoon City Police Department (RCPD) shortly before the city itself was purged forever, but once it set its sights on Leon S Kennedy and Claire Redfield, it would not stop until someone met their end.
Both scenarios in the Resident Evil 2 Remake have Mr X suffering a different fate, with him being ripped into by the final boss G in Claire's scenario, but in Leon's, things don't end so smoothly.
Once the Trench Coat Limiter is damaged by an explosion it allows Mr X to mutate as his arm explodes into a mess of flesh and claws. This gives him the ability to hit the player with an instant kill move, which can be frustrating, but adds to the tension in his final battle with Leon.
In the end, just like the T-002, Mr X falls to the might of a quad-barrel rocket launcher.
