Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - 14 Helpful Gameplay Secrets You Didn't Know
5. Find (One Of) The Hidden Merchants
Sekiro's handling of merchants is pretty brilliant. Named the Memorial Mob, you'll come across a number of them dotted across the landscape, oftentimes in really bizarre places.
One right at the beginning that escaped my attention for FAR too long, is actually atop a cliff in the Ashina Outskirts, directly opposite the house where you acquire the first Bell Charm from the old lady. An awkward location to get to, clamber onto the nearby house where a gun-wielding enemy resides, and make a running jump from the bird's nest, tapping X/A again on the rock face to get up to the merchant.
Talking to this character lets you purchase the Firecracker Prosthetic - perfect for helping against the Blazing Bull or Gyouba horse battle going forward, as being animals, they get very notably startled by flashbangs.
You can get the Firecracker from other merchants after the horse battle, but clambering up here earlier makes these duels more manageable.
