Shenmue 3: 10 Things It Needs To Be Successful

1. Keep The Retro Arcades

You cannot argue with the power of Yu Suzuki classics. Outrun, Hang-On, Afterburner and Space Harrier: all icons of the 1980s arcade scene and all games playable in Shenmue and Shenmue II.

Now, I'm not familiar with the number of arcades open in the Guilin of 1987, but I'm hoping that if we're beginning in Bailu Village then we'll be headed for the big city to smoke out ol' Lan Di himself at some point during Shenmue III.

And what better way to prepare for a big confrontation than playing some video games? A quick spot of Heavyweight Champ and you're ready for fisticuffs at dawn! (Or, whatever time the actual fight will occur). I mean, if Super Monkey Ball 2 is reputedly good enough to improve surgeons' reaction times than how can Ryo refuse?

Arcades are a must. It's hip to be retro right now so SEGA are hopefully open to this.
