Silent Hill: 10 Reasons A Hideo Kojima Reboot Would Be Awesome

6. Kojima Needs A Break From Metal Gear

In reality, Kojima has been working on Metal Gear since 1998. He took a break between Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, to develop Policenauts, a game that has yet to see a release in North America. But once Kojima took the gaming world by storm in '98 with Metal Gear Solid, he's hardly had any time to develop other projects.

Aside from Zone of the Enders, Kojima's been somewhat limited in what he can create, having gone from working on MGS2 directly into Metal Gear Solid 3. Metal Gear Solid 4 followed, and he's currently working on two Metal Gear games at once, with Ground Zeroes and the Phantom Pain. Any artist should be encouraged to paint new portraits, but Kojima reportedly received death threats for not being involved in an upcoming Metal Gear game and has seemingly lost all interest in trying to do that again. It's a shame, since someone as gifted as Kojima should never be defined by one franchise. Giving him Silent Hill would allow him to start flexing his creative muscles, and show that he's not just a one-trick pony.
