Silent Hill: 10 Reasons A Hideo Kojima Reboot Would Be Awesome

7. More Money For Konami

Yes, it's true that the Metal Gear series has never quite made Call of Duty money, it still remains one of the most profitable franchises in the entire business. Metal Gear Solid 2 was the fourth-highest grossing title of 2001, sharing the spotlight with such titans as Grand Theft Auto III and Madden. It's got a dedicated and loyal fanbase, as does practically any game you slap Kojima's name on. Much like many of the greats, he's got superstar name value. Silent Hill isn't exactly a moneymaker, but it does well enough for itself. One can imagine what putting Kojima's name on the next Silent Hill might do. MGS2 sold over 6 million copies, with the last Silent Hill game selling a modestly smaller amount. Many fans will also tell you that they purchased a PlayStation 2 for the sole purpose of playing MGS2. And Metal Gear Solid 4 was a surefire system seller for the PS3. Again, Kojima's games don't make COD numbers, but they still move tons of coin. See what happens when you market the next title as "Hideo Kojima's Silent Hill".
