Silent Hills: 10 Big Rumours You Need To Know

1. There€™s Another Silent Hill In The Midwest

For this next theory, speculators focused on both the number 204863 as well as the image above to determine one of the many possible settings for Silent Hills. According to some Redditors, the town has has apparently moved across the country. While fans are still developing theories about the aforementioned number (the common theory is that it's actually Hideo Kojima€™s birthday), someone dug a little deeper and discovered that it refers to the genome model number of Populus Trichocarpa (which could also be connected to the demo€™s title), aka The Black Cottonwood. Keep in mind that Silent Hill traditionally takes place in the Northeastern part of the United States, and the movie is based on an abandoned mining town called Centralia, Pennsylvania. The Black Cottonwoods, on the other hand, can be found in the Northwestern part of the country. Tying in with the multiple Silent Hill theories, this could be a metaphor for the town branching out into new territory. Interestingly, another Redditor pointed out that Heather Mason of Silent Hill 3 grew up in Portland, where The Black Cottonwood is present. This could lead back to the idea that Kojima is attempting to focus on old plot points that Team Silent only hinted at like multiple dimensions.
