Smash Bros. Switch: 10 New Characters Nintendo Must Add
8. Phantom Ganon (Wind Waker)
There's a certain stigmatism that comes with fighters including too many iterations or 'clones' of the same character (give us a wave, Dr. Mario and Pichu) to bolster roster numbers instead of including entirely new participants.
Hyrule's eternal enemy, the Demon King Ganondorf himself, has been present in every Smash title since Melee, so it makes sense for Nintendo to have explored avenues for new characters since, but if it's able to justify Toon Link getting his own separate slot, why not his nemesis?
Besides, Phantom Ganon shares little with his, er, tangible self - he's popular and behaves wholly differently to the red-haired Gerudo's standard form.
It's been too long since Ganon(dorf) got some love, and this is the best way to do it. After all, it's not as if Breath of the Wild's porcine version of the character would work without first having to deal with some serious proportional issues.
