SNES Classic Mini: 20 Video Games It Must Have

13. Super Castlevania IV

The action horror classic that really put the "Super" in Super Castlevania IV, this game not only expanded on the prior trilogy of games from the NES, but again allowed for amazing graphics and control that felt like you weren't battling with the pad for supremacy.

The whip carried by Simon Belmont now went in eight directions, and there were plenty of enemies you'd have to tackle on your travels to and through Dracula's castle.

As with Super Metroid, this game had a fantastic soundtrack, and really created the right atmosphere through music and world design. Enemies and bosses were fearsome - a mixed bag of every horror film you've ever seen (plus a few mythological creatures thrown in for good measure) - and eventually you'd fight your way through to the Count himself.

Action horror doesn't get much better than this!
