South Park: The Stick Of Truth - 12 Reasons It's Awesome

9. The Summons

Expanding on the combat system, Stick of Truth also has its fair share of summon abilities, which like everything else in the game, are unabashedly South Park. There are four obtainable summons; Jesus, Mr. Slave, Mr. Kim, and Mr. Hankey the Christmas Poo. And outside of the natural absurdity that comes with the ability to summon someone like Jesus into battle, the attacks themselves are unbelievably brilliant. Seriously, whether it is Jesus bustling out an M4 to mow down some Nazi German zombies, Mr. Hankey conjuring up a literal s***-storm as an ingeniously placed reference to a past episode, these are some of the most creative finishers in the history of gaming. It's actually a shame and a bit of a bummer that each summon can only be used once per in-game day. Admittedly, they are blatantly overpowered but they also just endlessly entertaining to call upon. Perhaps what matters most though, is that it's another fantastic example of South Park lore brilliantly meshing into an in-game system.
