Spider-Man PS4: 8 Past Mistakes It Must Avoid
6. Repetitive Combat Encounters

Spider-Man: Web of Shadows was a fun, if not ultimately flawed, Spider-Man game. It had a great mechanic in allowing players to switch between the red and black suits on the fly, an interesting choice-based narrative, and a great selection of cameos and bosses.
It was also really, really repetitive.
No matter how much you love swinging around New York and zipping from one aerial villain to the next, doing it again and again for eight or so hours wore pretty thin. That's not a good thing when you're trying to convey Spidey's powers, and in ensuring gameplay is heterogeneous and compelling, splitting set-pieces up and providing a sense of verticality is massively important.
