Star Wars Battlefront 2: 10 New Gameplay Details You Need To Know
8. Ground-To-Vehicle Transitions
I'm presuming then you mean smaller things like rideable Tauntauns will have seamless transitions then, like the Speeder Bikes on Endor?
Matt Webster: Yes, along those sorts of lines.
Another tidbit from Eurogamer, it appears the basic act of getting into a vehicle has been upended. Fans lamented the change in 2015's edition, where rather than have animations showing characters climbing into everything from X-Wings to turrets, they'd either warp directly in, or take a knee and 'beam' up into an already in-flight ship.
No more. Well... some more.
DICE's Matt Webster highlights that the 'icon-based' way of hopping into vehicles and changing into a hero/villain has gone, but getting into larger vehicles is still something you'll spawn into after acquiring a certain amount of 'resources'. That part is kept vague, though I'd assume it'll be predicated on something like team and individual kill-counts.
Alongside this, Webster confirms that things like the Tauntauns and Speeder Bikes can be transitioned into from the ground, with no more awkward 'quick cuts' between the two. It's a potentially tiny thing, but makes the overall experience feel all the more immersive when playing.
