Star Wars Battlefront 2: 8 New Features We Can't Wait To Try

2. Starfighter Assault

How did we go from Star Wars Battlefront's quite frankly boring starfighter duels to this?

Criterion Games. That's all you need to know. Rather than give DICE another crack at doing vehicular combat justice in Battlefront 2, EA's seen sense and done what it should have from the start: handed the project over to a studio that knows how to make getting behind the wheel, so to speak, in video game land fun rather than frustrating.

Granted, tarmac-melting four-wheelers don't share much in common with TIE Fighters or X-wings, but we're not talking about to-a-tee realistic physics à la Forza Motorsport here. Battlefront 2 requires something a little more... how to say it... extreme.

New Burnout material isn't heading over the horizon anytime soon, but the alternative is too tantalizing to ignore; all Criterion needs to do is replicate its own homegrown series' ethos for Battlefront 2, and adoration will soon follow. With dazzlingly authentic visuals as those seen in the above video, how can the end result be any different?
