Star Wars Battlefront 2 Beta: 4 Ups & 7 Downs

1. It Won't Win The Series Many New Fans

Ultimately, a lot of people seemed optimistic that Battlefront 2 would be a huge apology for the disappointing previous game, to the point that it would even win over those who played the 2015 beta and decided not to buy the full title.

Unfortunately, that's not really the case here, as convincing as EA's PR offensive has been in recent months. Though the game does offer some solutions to a lot of the first game's problems, it also comes with a litany of its own issues, and even introduces a few that seemingly weren't present the first time.

Basically, if the first game didn't click for you, it's hard to imagine this one making up for it, so you might just want to stick to the original 2005 Battlefront II, which has just had its servers re-activated on PC.

Disappointing though this beta is in many ways, there are undeniably some areas where it absolutely excels...
