Star Wars Battlefront 3: 10 Fan Demands DICE Can't Ignore
4. Light And Dark Side Campaigns
The inclusion of Iden Versio's story mode in Battlefront II was a much needed and very welcome upgrade from its predecessor.
It was also a little underwhelming.
One of the more enduring takeaways from this mode, however, was Commander Versio's position as a bad-ass Imperial commander; we all love to play the baddie.
One trap Star Wars games always fall into is the assumption that the gamer is, and should always be, the hero.
Whether it's Cal Kestis, Kyle Katarn, Dash Rendar, Obi-Wan or countless others, we're always trying to save the Galaxy from the evil Empire and the Dark side of the Force.
Why not give us both?
Much like alternating the same multiplayer map between, say, the Resistance and the First Order in consecutive online matches, playing through essentially the same story but from opposing sides of the war is an exciting proposition indeed.
Position it correctly, and it could even cause the player to question some preconceived notions of the classic Good Vs Evil trope; what if the campaign mode showed the Dark Side to be morally right and painted the rebellious forces as terrorists and would-be usurpers?
DICE would be crazy to pass up such an opportunity, from a certain point of view.
