Star Wars Battlefront 3: 10 Fan Demands DICE Can't Ignore
2. Fairer Credit And Unlock Thresholds
One of the most persistent and valid criticisms levelled at the new Battlefront games is the time it takes to grind out enough in game currency to actually unlock anything.
This, perhaps more than anything else on this list, needs to be fixed going forward.
Whilst patches and updates eventually saw to it that no actual real world currency is required to unlock characters, costumes, and upgrades, the barrier to entry is prohibitively high.
Take, for example, the young Han Solo alternative skins modelled after his appearance in the Solo movie.
One of these unlockables carries an in-game unlock cost of eighty thousand credits.
The average player putting in an average, mid-table performance in an online match may accrue between, say three and six hundred credits per game.
By this reckoning, it would take over one hundred and thirty matches to accrue enough credits to unlock this sought after costume.
But once you've spent the credits and equipped your shiny new suit, you are back to square one, penniless, and facing your next hundred and thirty matches.
Whether this is remedied through the provision of a higher credit yield per match or by lowering the prices of the actual unlocks, something definitely has to change here.
