Star Wars Battlefront: 9 Big Worries Nobody's Talking About

1. Get Some Class(es)

Considering that Star Wars Battlefront's developer is the exact same one responsible for the Battlefield franchise, the decision not to include a class system in Battlefront seems totally bizarre and counterproductive for the sake of it. You'd think that instead of the frivolous 'Star Card' system that Battlefront would have benefited far more from a more structured approach to variation, and, without wanting to sound like a stuck record - the absence of a squad system would have made the inclusion of classes a useful tool for keeping players focused on a particular task. What we have instead is a free-for-all system that does nothing to promote certain types of play. With usually class-specific gear such as sniper rifles and defensive shield now available without restriction, DICE have focused on versatility at the cost of structure and balance. Yes, gamers like to have the freedom to play in any way they choose - but Battlefront, like its contemporaries, excels most when each individual player is assigned a secondary role besides 'kill everything that doesn't look like you'. The remedy? Just create some standard classes and restrict the use of certain Star Cards to each one and we're golden.
