17. Super Punch-Out!!

Though there have been far better boxing video games released over the years since Super Punch-Out!! first appeared, none can claim to be as iconic, or as beloved.

Despite the fact that it has one of the steepest difficulty curves in the history of gaming (seriously, you'd go from effortlessly smashing opponents to repeatedly picking your teeth up between bouts), the original pugilism game was huge fun. The surface level was extremely enjoyable thanks to the characters you'd fight, but you really stayed around for the simple, responsive controls.

If this wasn't the best sports title on the SNES (football games aside), it was definitely very close.
